Do machines need ethics – and if so, which one? Interdisciplinary perspectives on autonomously „acting“ and „communicating“ systems

The annual conference of the Interdisciplinary Media Ethics Center Vienna 2016 took place at the Ludwigsburg University of Education (PHL). It was organized in cooperation with the Media Ethics Research Group of the PHL (headed by Prof. Dr. Dr. Matthias Rath) and the Chair of Communication and Media Studies with a focus on social communication and mediatization research (Prof. Dr. Friedrich Krotz) at the ZeMKI at the University of Bremen.

The topic of the conference was the ethical consequences of increasing communication and control by autonomous systems on the background of the concept of mediatization.
